Harmonic Filter Technology
What are harmonic filters and what it does and does not? Where do we use Harmonic filters to solve problems? When harmonics are left unaddressed, what happens?


John Bowlin is an Electrical Engineer and a member of IEEE with his chapter affiliation recently changed to OC. Since the 70’s he has worked with manufacturers such as Allen Bradley (Rockwell now days), GE, and Square D, where he worked with electro-mechanical controls, PLC’s, and drives (both DC and AC). He has been on the manufacturer’s rep side of the industry for the past 20 years working with lines like TCI on their active and passive harmonic filters, line and load reactors, and sine wave and DV/DT output filters.

Joe Blanchard is the President of Blanchard Associates. He graduate from University of Washington, BA in Business Administration and Arizona State University CPMR Graduate Program. Since 1983, Joe has served Manufacturer’s providing sales coverage, technical field services, training and support in Industrial and Commercial Automation, Controls, Electrical, Lighting, Energy Management and Power Quality Markets for manufacturers including GE, Honeywell, Group Schneider, Molex, ABB, MTE and TCI. Joe is celebrating 36 years of marriage, has 4 children, and (finally) blessed for the first time last August to become a “G-PA” with the birth of his first grandchild, Hailey.
