We will start with a quick introduction to NFPA 70E, OSHA, and Cal/OSHA, including their principles, purposes and how they apply to the electrical industry, engineers, contractors, and facilities – as well as Owner responsibilities! We will address the questions: β€˜Why should we care about NFPA 70E?’ and β€˜What does the Client receive for the power system study they are paying for?’ We will also review the changes to the NFPA 70E, 2015 edition, and we will cover a practical case study for a DC Arc Flash analysis and the challenges and obstacles on that project. Finally, we will discuss the three different DC Arc flash calculation methods:
ο‚· Maximum Power Method;
ο‚· Stokets & Oppenlander; and
ο‚· Paukert

Bio: Mr. Beheshtian has over 20 years of experience in Electrical Engineering design and power systems studies for commercial, utility, industrial, the oil and gas facilities. He is responsible for design, calculation, training and project management of all electrical systems at DH Green Energy. Prior to joining DH Green Energy, he served as Staff Electrical Engineer at Schneider Electric Engineering Services (SEES) and Operational Technology Inc. (Developer of ETAP Software). Hamid successfully conducted more than 800 hours of 41 ETAP workshops, 11 User groups, for 1800 engineers in US and Europe, from 2007 to 2011.
